![]() ![]() □□□ I though the narrator did an excellent job bringing the book to life, but I haven’t decided whether I want to continue with the series in the future. Harbinger of death, keeper of souls, frequenter of nightmares. It also felt as though the author was trying too hard with the sex scenes, and there were sooo many… making it a bit boring and so annoying to listen to after a while, even though they were really well written. ![]() ![]() I personally found the age gap between the MC’s to be an issue (she was 18 (a mere child) and he was 32), so some their interactions were a bit disconnected and frustrating at times. ![]() The author’s writing style was really good and did not disappoint, but the storyline, which was loosely based on a modern retelling of Hades and Persephone, was not my favourite… and then again it wasn’t the worst I’ve ever read. Eventually, you have to take the opportunities that are thrust upon you, and trust that the universe knows what it’s doing. It’s terrifying, trying to find courage to take a leap of faith, but you can’t spend eternity hiding. I had such mixed feelings this book, especially after all the great reviews this book got, but unfortunately it just didn’t quite hit the mark for me.
